Carrera GTS Cabriolet First Contact

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet. You can tell that Germans love to give long names to things. Just think of the PDK, Porschedoppelkluppungsgetriebe, dual clutch transmission, a long name for a great thing. Yet, 911’s take a heartbeat to fall in love with and leave you with no words whatsoever.
The 911 has changed and will keep on changing without making an apology. Yet, despite change, it is still the sportscar well all know and love. On paper, Porsche enthusiast shouldn’t love the 991.2 Carrera 4. It is turbocharged to reduce emissions, has 4 wheel drive and it is not a coupè. However, these are mere suppositions as this lovely thing from Stuttgart is as good as you want this car to be.
Porsche is champion in defining and re-defining driving excitement and the 4 GTS makes no exeption. 450 hp, loads of grip and powerful brakes, all topped by the melodious sound of a proper 6 cylinder flat six.
The balance of the 4 wheel drive is outstanding, while the typical Porsche-joy will make you forget about the absence of the manual transmission and enjoy the fast shifts of the PDK. And in what other setting than the French Riviera? Long live the 911.
